I have some 12VDC LED fixtures that I would like to put in the ceiling of our showers. My thinking is that I would run some 14/2 from the main light fixture to a utility box where I would have a 12VDC power supply for the light.

Can anyone think of any potential issues with the local inspector?
(I already have an issue with the wife. She thinks that a light in the shower will highlight the "imperfections" in the cleaning).

They sound very similar to swimming pool lights which are also 12vdc and as long the power supply has adequate protection then I don’t think an inspector would have a problem with them. I can’t speak for your wife though. Where do you plan on placing the power supply? Hopefully not in the bathroom.

LV IN THE UK IS 240 V

Okay, I'm struggling to find a definite USA definition. I see the US is a member of the IEC so I assume they use the same definitions as us??
