What's wrong?.....looks like there's been an NIC domestic installer involved, all is rosy.Manager says we had a pir on one of the cottages and Sparky man says that the sub main hasn't an isolator, can you sort one out.
It's fed from here, another cottage next door.

A pair of 16mm t&e feeds 2 cottages from the henleys.
urmmmm i think it needs a bit more than an isolator.
You’ll never be short of a Henley block after sorting that lot.Manager says we had a pir on one of the cottages and Sparky man says that the sub main hasn't an isolator, can you sort one out.

I have a box of about 60 removed over the last few years, along with about the same amount of junction boxes. You’ll never be short of a Henley block after sorting that lot.
Del would be in his oils in a place like this, coolIts fine it has the NIC seal of approval sticker on it...
Just a few screws in the bottom left corner to remove, as it doesn't look professional to leave them laying there. What's wrong?.....looks like there's been an NIC domestic installer involved, all is rosy.
He would Meggering everything within an inch of its life , Sucking his teeth, splitting the rings up , making some beautiful 25amp radials to get the homeowner out of troubleDel would be in his oils in a place like this, cool
That is how I expect every bg board to lookRemember those pictures where you have to spot the dangers, and everything's a danger?
As BG board installs go I actually thought it looked quite neatThat is how I expect every bg board to look
I agree and of course it's much better without the earth sleeving, stays cooler and nice shiny copper always looks nice.As BG board installs go I actually thought it looked quite neat
Oh what fun can be had with a pair of old boots and some black spray paint
It is possible to make consumer units out of the same material as the meter, however, it would likely depend on the specific material in question and the requirements for the consumer unit.
In general, consumer units (also known as electrical distribution boards) must meet certain safety and performance standards, such as those established by national and international electrical codes. The material used to manufacture a consumer unit must meet these standards and be able to withstand the electrical and environmental conditions it will be exposed to.
Yes it was…. Like why don’t we make aeroplanes out of the same stuff as the Black Box.I think it was a tongue in cheek comment.
All the work of one person?Seen this a few times recently. One of which had an OZEV audit and wasn’t picked up.

Don’t think so unless they’re sub contracted. All the work of one person?
!has the tape fallen off? Best get some new tape to cover the terminals!Mmmmmmm, where to start hereView attachment 106158
I like the attention to detail to label the colour-coded wired L and N with a high contrast pen or similar. Shame they don't seem to have linked up the T&E's CPC of course!Mmmmmmm, where to start here
Is that multiple T&Es being used as tails?Mmmmmmm, where to start hereView attachment 106158
Seen that done loads of times on old council flats etcIs that multiple T&Es being used as tails?
That assumes there is a Consumer Unit.Is that multiple T&Es being used as tails?
More multiple singles being used as tails, going by the way they're bundled together, Anybody's guess what the T&E is for or goes.Is that multiple T&Es being used as tails?
a twin and earth went to an old MEM fuse isolator for the water heater and what looked like a few sets of about 4mm singles (in imperial size), to two 4way rewireable fuse boxesIs that multiple T&Es being used as tails?
Just fill them with silicon, and if you're really fussy you could buy coloured and get a decent match.!has the tape fallen off? Best get some new tape to cover the terminals!
Been back today to replace isolate the circuit and replace one fitting with led frame. Can you get our light working?
Interesting replacing these knackered fluorescent boxes with led frames.

Agree, but a bit more difficult with the replacement 'fit together' frame about an inch wide with no back.Best thing with lathe, pepper the fitting with holes and hope at least three get a bite.
That's why I'm frightened the trial one is going to be a success....And as a bonus the rest will all need changed pretty soon as well
Yes thats the intention but there are lots of other problems that need looking at as there are sub main feeds to a kitchen and stables Pme earthing, tails from cut out are around 15mtrs running through fabric, etc etcLovely days work sorting all that lot out
Assuming its not Eco7, you could fit a lovely Rcbo board an replace those 3 x 3036 boards and do away with all those tails splitters
It has an astonish "this has grown and mutated for 50 years" look to it, with never a "lets do it properly" stage!Yes thats the intention but there are lots of other problems that need looking at as there are sub main feeds to a kitchen and stables Pme earthing, tails from cut out are around 15mtrs running through fabric, etc etc
I guess even if they had/wanted that then @Dustydazzler 's suggestion could work with a dual-row RCBO board if needed? The E7 is still there, but not used any more.
If you do this job then a series of time-lapse images from start to finish would be nice to watch. And a few remarks and comments by each perhaps in way of a master-class.
Spot on, did over the last 45yrs or so.It has an astonish "this has grown and mutated for 50 years" look to it, with never a "lets do it properly" stage!

It's not due to be done for a while, but I will do as you suggest, there are more than a few problems that need to be addressed first. If you do this job then a series of time-lapse images from start to finish would be nice to watch. And a few remarks and comments by each perhaps in way of a master-class.
