Hi, Hoping someone can clarify for me. I've recently moved into a rental property, the landlord had new electric radiators installed and a new consumer unit. Would this require a new EICR?

I've been having issues with burning smells from the plug sockets so now I'm concerned about the safety of all the electrics. They have provided an EICR from prior to the new installation. Is this sufficient?

The replacement consumer unit will require an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC). If you are experiencing burning smells you need to contact you landlord but new heaters can initially give off odours.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Is the EIC something that should be shared with the tenant? I have informed the landlord and I'm waiting on a response currently. The plug sockets that are burning are in the kitchen unfortunately, not the ones for the heaters.

The landlord does not need to share it with you as for the burning smell the landlord should address this.
